  Our Purpose

Kansas Action Network, Inc. is a broad based coalition for workers' rights, social justice and economic fairness seeking a common ground in the pursuit of a just society. We call upon our common values in order to educate, organize and mobilize on issues that will improve the working and living conditions for all men, women, and children in Kansas.

Our Values

2006 Legislative Agenda

  • We Stand for economic and social justice for all.
  • We stand for having a voice on the job and in our communities.
  • We stand for the right to equal education and opportunities.
  • We stand for dignity and respect.
  • We stand united.
Our Beliefs
  • We believe we have a moral responsibility to make Kansas a better place for our children and all future Kansans.
  • We believe we can accomplish little as separate individuals, but that together we have power to end discrimination and inequality based on religious beliefs, race, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, and poverty.
  • We believe we must educate state and local policy makers to ensure that all voices are heard at every level of government to create economic opportunity and foster social justice.
  • We believe our strength and effectivness depends upon the active participation and commitment of coalition members in solidarity with each other and our allies.
  • We believe we have a special mission to bring economic and social justice to those most exploited in our communities.

Our Vision

  • A State where work is fulfilling and fairly rewarded.
  • A State where all Kansans can live and work in dignity.
  • A State where all Kansans have a meaningful voice in decisions that affect them.
  • A State where all Kansans have the opportunity to develop their talents and skills.
  • A State where our solidarity stands firm against the forces of discrimination and hate.
  • A State where government plays an active role in improving the lives of its citizens.
